Don\u2019t believe too strongly in something just because your friends do.<br \/>\n* Listen to your mother. She\u2019s right about them.<br \/>\n* Hang out with your sister more. She\u2019s leaving to go to college, soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Jennie, age 15:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Don\u2019t cry so much. Your life is pretty awesome.<br \/>\n* Tell your parents you love them more.<br \/>\n* Spend some more time with your girls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Jennie, age 16:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Don\u2019t stay with him for the summer just because your lockers are next to each other. You should really break up with him when you\u2019re done with him. It\u2019ll save heartache later.<br \/>\n* Don\u2019t think you\u2019re fat. Right now, you\u2019re the skinniest you\u2019re going to be. And even when you\u2019re not as skinny, you\u2019ll be happy. Because you\u2019re beautiful.<br \/>\n* Focus when you go to NYC. You\u2019ll remember every snowflake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Jennie, age 18:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Break up before you go. Although you\u2019ll miss some good times, you\u2019ll thank me later.<br \/>\n* Don\u2019t let him walk you home in September. It\u2019ll be the start of heartbreak 4 years in the making.<br \/>\n* Don\u2019t go to that party at K\u2019s. Don\u2019t let him be on the porch with you. Don\u2019t let him tell you that he\u2019d date you if only she didn\u2019t exist. Don\u2019t let him say he wishes she didn\u2019t.<br \/>\n* It\u2019s not your fault he died. Don\u2019t let yourself believe it for a minute. Ever.<br \/>\n* Listen to your mother.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Jennie, age 19:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Don\u2019t promise things you can\u2019t to the people you love.<br \/>\n* Kiss him anyways. You won\u2019t regret it.<br \/>\n* Kiss him, too. Ditto.<br \/>\n* Remember that your life is full of learning experiences. He loved you.
