It’s like I know where I need to be…

This week, I saw Needtobreathe again with R. It was so excellent, and although pulled quite a different crowd than the first time we saw them, it was totally worth it.

I found this video from one of their acoustic sets, and this is just the epitome of why I think they are so awesome…they sound so different, can really sing/play instruments/write.

Here are a few photos from the show — I was too distracted with singing to actually snap that many 😉

You should check them out on Pandora or Spotify, because they’re lovely, and then join R and I next time we go to a show if you live in LA!

Now, onto the Hunger Games tonight…

When you have to purchase mad D batteries

Team, we are rolling right into spring, and with spring comes so.many.exciting.things!

Tonight, we’re kicking spring off with a concert of Needtobreathe. I saw them back in December 2010, and was hoping to see them last August, but they were playing with Taylor Swift, and I couldn’t convince R to go with me (can you blame him?)

Thursday, I get to go to the midnight screening of The Hunger Games with a whole gaggle of friends from work and home, which will be a melding of my worlds and so much fun.

I’m working on a few projects for Garlic, My Soul, one of which is going to allow me to use fondant for the very first time, and for that I am very grateful.

I love spring sliding in with cool weather, too, putting the sun on my face but allowing me to wear teal puffy vests to work, and toting my LLBean boat bag, making my life look like I am living straight out of Maine, or Massachusetts, pulling at my heart to pay a visit to my sisters on the east.

Also, a request: can y’all send me some mixed CDs? I am feeling a little lacking in my musical selections right now, and I am in need of some music for this spring-beginning.

What is everyone up to right now? How are you celebrating spring??

5gts: my soul sister is a rockstar edition.

1. My friend KC got some VERY exciting news today but I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it on the airwaves as my blog is very famous and the information might get into the hands of someone we don’t want it to. It involves her career and is so exciting I had to call her and giggle on the phone for five minutes. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU K.

2. It’s Friday, which means tomorrow is Saturday, full of soccer and two birthday parties and a Valentine’s cooking class on Sunday. I cannot wait.

3. This photo of Corelyn and I from our shoot on the beach. Mary and I talked about this last night and how someone Googled a recipe and this came up and they recognized the photograph as Mary’s and it just made me happy that it all comes around and that we’re starting to influence each other’s professional careers!

4. Listening to “The Head and the Heart” Pandora, downloading new albums by Jonah Smith and Newton Faulkner, and the head-bopping beats of Needtobreathe.

5. Everlasting sunshine, 71 degree weather, and California.

Happy Friday, chickadees!!!

9.7

The results are coming later today on who won the challenge for Skinny Beeyach. But I got weighed this morning, and lost 9.7 pounds since January 1.

To be honest, when I stepped on the scale I was hoping for any change. I was hoping for one or two pounds. Not nearly as staggering as 9.7. And the best part? I haven’t changed anything drastically…I’ve eaten better, eaten less, drank more water, and exercised when I could. I’ve made sure I’ve gotten sleep, and planned outdoor activities on the weekends to get us moving.

I am proud of the changes I made, because I think they can be sustained throughout the year, integrated into my life. I can’t wait to see what these changes bring in the year ahead, but for now, I’m looking forward to yoga tonight, skiing this weekend, and having more energy to do what I love in the coming months.
