Dear Mr. McCance:

You may not understand homosexuals. You may not agree with them. But you’ve gotta stop bullying them. Are you joking me? You’d disown your children because they were gay? This is the thing you’d disown them over? And you come from a good “Christian” family but you call on homosexual teens to commit suicide? Are.you.joking.me? For you, who may not understand general Internet-speak, the periods between my words are me pausing, for emphasis that your comment on Facebook was one of the stupidest, most disrespectful, insensitive, disgusting things I’ve ever read. You should be ashamed. I thank God you’re resigning from your position on the school board, and that you’ve apologized, but you have to, as my mother would say, do some real soul searching. Because you seem to be a little confused by what the word “Christian” means. You should really spend some time trying to figure it out.

I’ll wait. (and so will the rest of the country.)

Dear Earl

Dear Earl,

I know that, as a storm, you don’t have much control over your own movements. But, this weekend, could you try to steer clear of Logan airport? I have a friend, a very dear sister friend, coming to visit me, and I’d really like to see her. She already had to push her trip back once, thanks to Mother Nature (and some pesky bugs…) and I just want her to be here so we can eat snacks and sun ourselves and giggle.

I think you can relate, because even as a storm, you must like to giggle, no? Anyways, I’d really appreciate it. I am sending you anti-Massachusetts but stay-strong-storm vibes, so you can rain on someone else’s parade.

Sincerely,

Jennie

A letter to Representative Joe Wilson (R-SC)

Dear Representative Wilson,

I am shocked, appalled, and horrified by your outburst during President Obama’s address to Congress last night. Your failure to positively represent yourself, your constituents, and your country is a sign of your inability to do your job. As a professional, I hope that you recognize your mistake, apologize, and resign from your position. No representative of the United States should be allowed to continue his representation after completely lacking in sound judgement when being viewed by his entire country, not to mention international viewers.

I hope you heed the advice I have given you, and hope for you that after your resignation the media reminds the world that your behavior, both uncalled for and offensive, will not be tolerated. Unfortunately you chose the exact wrong place and time to voice your opinion. I hope in the future you practice your freedom of speech in a respectful, professional manner, and hope you learn from your grave mistake.

Sincerely,

Jennie P.
