Best Day Ever.

Pretty much 1 or 2 things happen every day that make each day “best day ever” here in Jennie’s life.

But today — truely, best. day. ever.

*large iced coffee with chocolate, exercise in the morning by walking to work from the train instead of taking the bus, free breakfast burrito, and orange juice. Goodies from Bike to Work day, the promise of a bike in my future, a temporary tattoo, and best of all:

email from facebook telling me that 3eb (Third Eye Blind) has posted a concert. Near me. Where? Hollywood. When? In merely 1 1/2 months.

I bought tickets immediately, after calling to confirm Jeff’s attendance.

The concert? Not listed on 3eb’s website, or the venue’s website. Sweet success. (These kinds of shows sell out, so I had to act swiftly.)

Best. day. ever.

They were RIGHT there. We were so close.

dizzy madness/all I need is your face

Thus begins Jennie’s Spring Fling with every singer/songwriter in the US that is between 20-50 who may or may not be definitely IS the perfect match for her.

I can’t help it– spring comes around and I need a new outlook on life. I need Jon McLaughlin to tell me to that all he needs is my face. I need Better Than Ezra to sing that we’re absolutely still, and that a million years wouldn’t be long enough. I need Graham Colton to tell me that these are the best days, I need Mat Kearney to meet me once again, down off Lake Michigan, I need Stephan Jenkins to ask me why can’t I be a little more mystery.

I’m on my way to owning 5 new albums that I am sure will keep my soul at bay this summer, and I look forward to finding more loves on the way:

“I learned that unbelievably awful things can and do happen. In truth, they are not so rare, isolated events. Each of us has a story that would break someone’s heart. Despite the grief and unfairness of it all, we keep going. There are chores to be done. There are people who need our care. There is a life to be led. The real lesson was found…I realized that, regardless of the heartache, we may choose the moments in which we live. On that day, I learned that love creates a tremendous capacity for grace. And perhaps it is that grace that keeps us moving forward.”

So my friend, J, she had a heartbreak recently. She is so sad, and we are all sad for her, and we are doing lots of cuddling, loving, and snuggling in an attempt to forget sadness and focus on the purple and love.

I made her a mixed tape, or CD I guess, for those moments when she hurts so bad she thinks her chest might bust. That way, she can get it out on her own time.
