Cat used my flower bed as a litter box. I’m gonna kill it, if I find it.

This is what my neighbor said to me as I walked by his apartment building this morning. (And contrary to what I’ve said in the past about meeting my older neighbors in the street, I was actually running early, if you can believe it.)

It was pretty hilarious, and I did all I could from laughing out loud.

I have found in the past few weeks that as I have started running outside, I have become more familiar with my neighborhood, and extended neighbors. Although I am still waiting on a route that doesn’t include a million lights (the much needed break while waiting for a light to change is doing nothing for my endurance) I am enjoying the path. I basically run to the gym, and back, which is about 1.6 miles, and is a hilarious thing, if you think about it. Running to the gym. But it’s been cool enough out to do so, so I am counting my blessings before I am punished by 90 degrees and have to hop on a treadmill.

The running, by the way, is going. I run a little further each time, and want to kill myself a little less. I have tried to mix up my iPod mix, but I need a little help (mixes? suggestions? anyone? hello?) and I also have tried to make sure I actually stretch before I leave so I don’t get halfway and have to embarrassingly have to stop and stretch in front of the police station that is about halfway. So, we’re working on it. Feet have been hurting less, although I tell you I don’t understand how one person can sweat that much. Also, Nikki, the headbands you gave me are magical, and I can’t believe I lived without them.

In other news, last night I had a salad for dinner that was giant, in the biggest Tupperware I own, because “losing weight for weddings” is officially on. No dressing, just veggies, nuts, and fruit. I am on this diet for the duration. Minus Thursday, when I plan on eating the rest of the cupcakes that Mary and Rebecca made, because I can because calories don’t count on the day of your birth.

Tonight we’re back to yoga, since Sunday yoga was canceled due to the gym reflooring it’s classroom. In the next few weeks, I’ll be venturing to a new yoga studio that I bought a GroupOn to, so we’ll see how that goes.

Crow, here I come. What are you up to?

And make you cry love, cry out loving…

…dance drunken to your hearts beat…

[name that tune]

******Here we go, gliding into another fabulous weekend. Last night, I attempted to communicate with my BFF Lauren, but failed due to forgetfulness and laundry. She is headed to Paul Simon, from what I gather. Who I love more than anything. Luckily, Jeff set our boom box in the bedroom to play music from our iPhones (because he has mad skills like that) so I settled in after folding laundry for an evening of Paul singing to me. Delightful.

Last night Jeff also realized the depth of my Paul love, which apparently had gone silent for the past 4 and a half years. Well, anyways, now he knows, and knows I will love him forever and always, and anyone who disagrees with me on that point can skedaddle out of my purview.

Things are looking up, this weekend, which includes: making red velvet cupcakes tonight with Rebecca, a wine-induced picnic at Malibu’s Saddlerock tomorrow, birthday fun included, a housewarming party that will continue the fun tomorrow night, and a Sunday of relaxing, and maybe a date hike in Malibu. Packed with fun (and sun, finally, finally has returned to LA!) I literally cannot wait for a busy-yet-relaxed weekend in LA.

Here’s a photo from last year’s wine adventure…

That's some water...towards the end of our adventure...

Don't get all crazy, there were like 20 of us. Or...14. So, not unreasonable, we swear!

The lady-friends.

Isn't my bf handsome?

Here’s to another year of fun, and an excellent afternoon to celebrate…

Field and fountain, moor and mountain…

Today is the Epiphany. The day the Magi reach the Baby Jesus. (It was a long way away, so give them a break!)

Today is ALSO my BFF’s birthday.

This is her and me on our last adventure (Lauren and Jennie do Cali’s Coastline 2010.) We’ve also adventured to Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York City, Michigan, California, and Italia. I’m sure I am leaving some places, and states, out, but we adventure a lot.

We’ve been friends since we were nine, and I moved to Clinton, CT, and was placed in Lauren’s 4th grade class. She was shy. I was loud. We were on the same bus route. It worked out.

When Lauren turned 10, we had to sit in the third row at the movie theater because I forgot my glasses and couldn’t see the screen. We were seeing 101 Dalmatians. We had met only four months earlier. That, my friends, is true friendship.

15 years later, Lauren turns 25 today. We are still best friends. We still go on adventures. (We should, in fact, plan one soon, don’t you think?)

So Happy Birthday, Bestie. Hope you play Scrabble for both of us today!
