I would do anything, spontaneously…

Last weekend’s adventures were amazing. Here’s a peek into our girl’s day:

That’s me in the middle, with 12 of my closest girlfriends!

This week, however, was what my co-workers and I affectionately call “Hell Week.” It’s one of our busiest work weeks in the entire week, which meant I spent quality time at my desk, called my desk my “bed” twice, and ate the following foods: Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Thai again, and last night, had Dino Nuggets.

When I was a kid, my fave meal (which probably could explain my chubby preteen years) was chicken and fries. Last night, after the longest.week.ever, after 9-10 pm quitting times, I had dino nuggets and fries for dinner. (This time, though, I used organic ketchup, don’t worry.) Jeff and I watched House Hunters until they started repeating. It was an excellent Friday night.

Today brings basketball with B and my favorite 5 year olds, followed by giving blood with MAC. It’ll be the second time I’ve attempted to give blood in Cali, but seeing as I have been more persistent in taking my iron supplements, I think for once I’ll be able to give.

Today will probably also involve a Target run so I can get some supplies for the next adventure: Vegas next weekend to celebrate Corelyn’s birthday! I can’t wait.

I hope y’all are doing something stellar today!

blistered feet, as your spinning round my mind…

Well folks, I took a two day break, which was mostly uncalled for, so to make up for it I made myself get up on a Saturday morning to run. I was two days behind! It’s like I screwed up the whole training schedule and I’ve only just begun! To make sure I went (and he went, too) Scott this time said he’d pick me up. (We were supposed to run together on Tuesday, and on Wednesday we had a six-am yoga date, and I was stood up both times.) 7:57, Saturday morning, and he was downstairs, ready to go.

The result? Always run with a buddy. I ran my mile in 13:00 flat, at a .5 incline (because Lauren told me too, and there are only 2 people in the world that can boss me around: Lauren, and my sorella.)

My fastest mile yet, at an incline too. And my iPod was on my team this morning, too. So, even though I went to bed at 1:00 am after another successful pizza night, I think it was worth it.

Today includes: bball with my five year olds, archery with my ladies, a few hours of getting stuff done and then a girls’ night in. I cannot wait.

saturday. sunday. monday. funday.

This weekend was:

saturday:

beach party. bonfire. laughing, smiling, photos, running, volleyball, soccer, frisbee, burgers. Grilling, smiling, burning, laughing, acting, practicing. love. twenty of my closest friends. you are all my favorite.

sunday:

driving, driving, driving. mountains, snow, what does the temperature gauge say?, going down, down, down. still too hot to ski. skiing in shorts, skiing in sports bras, skiing with my love, skiing in jackets, too hot. green circle, green circle, blue square, falling down, down, green circle, sunset. cocoa.

monday:

sleeping in, still up by 10. yoga with scott. namaste. break, he to basketball, I to my infinite dust bunnies, war to be waged. vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. Relax. M comes over, then TJ’s. Then Ralphs. Enchiladas. No photos, just us, making dinner…nothing to see…1.5 times a recipe, and still not enough for our hungry, hungry boys. J and S, I cannot believe the amount you consume. Still, leftovers for M and I, for lunches.

Something beautiful.

Last night, Corelyn and Melissa came over. Corelyn and I blogged. We were finishing up our little project.

******

I made baked ziti for dinner. I pulled out a cookbook (not PW) and modified based on what I had in my kitchen (only one egg, less than half a container of ricotta, you get the picture.) I used a log of mozz.

*****

No one took a photo. No fanfare. No frills. Just baked ziti.

*****

It was still beautiful.

*****

It was ready in 25 minutes. It fed three of us. More than half was left for this week’s lunches. And for dinner tonight.

*****

Tonight I ate leftovers. Half a brick of brie. A handful of grapes. Three stalks of celery.

Break time. Holiday time.
