Epic Fail weekend: Fun times with the ladies!

This weekend was full of epic fails, mostly because we had a tight schedule that was unrealistic and managed to screw up the entire thing.

Friday night — Cor picked me up from work, and we headed to my house so she could fill out her lease application and I could do my laundry. Then we headed to her house, did laundry, and watched Everwood. Then it was back to my house for a game of Loaded Questions and…Sam Summer, ladies and gentlemen, is out for the season.

Saturday — Jeff arrived home as I was leaving for soccer. He was on a night shoot Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In fact, I think he’s just getting home right now from last night. Anyways, so I went to soccer and volleyball. I now have a soccer team full of 4-8 boys and girls who are eager to run around and kick the ball. It was a good Saturday morning. Oh, and our volleyball team won 3 games in a row. Take that.

Then I went home, and called Corelyn, who came over, finished her lease, and then we headed to the beach with Bec. But…by the time we got to the beach, we had to turn around and go back to USC for Bec’s sister’s play. Which was hysterical and wonderful, and fabulous. We went out for dinner with Bec’s extended family, and I had a heart to heart with her father about Jeff. Then we went to the show, and out for drinks afterwards. It was such a good night. I love Bec’s family, especially her sister.

Sunday — What a crazy, but good, day!! I was ready to go to Disneyland with Cor, Bec, and J. Cor was picking me up, and Jeff got home as the phone rang, with Cor on the other end.

“Hey are you here?”

“Well, actually…no.” Thus began our morning of craziness.

Cor decided before she left that she was on the movie set of the Fast and Furious, which ended up with her not being able to break in time when she was exiting the highway. She banked the curb, and dented the rim of the front right tire. So I jetted over to the exit, trying to figure out where to park and how to get to her. Once I did, I flew into action, and made her search for her insurance card. Meanwhile, the police drove by.

“Hey, are you girls OK?” says the police officer

“Umm…well, I mean. Yes, we’re fine,” I say.

“Well ok. You should probably move, that spot is dangerous,” he says.

“Yes, we’re going to in a moment. My car is across the street. Thank you!” I exclaim.

He drives away with his partner.

Then I called her insurance company, and verified her birthday…

“Yes, my birthday is…February…” I say, looking to Cor for the date…

“13” says Cor.

“13” I say.

“1986” says Cor.

“1986” I say.

“Great, thank you!” says the Geico representative.

Cor called A to make him wake up, called J to get her and Bec out to pick A up, and then called between the two parties to make sure they were successfully joined. Then J and Bec drove A to the tire place, and we waited for the tow truck. Meanwhile, it was 95 degrees out.

Two hours later, car towed, Cor and me picked up, oranges from my orange tree on hand, filled with bagels and humming tunes from our new mixed CD, we arrived at Disney. Once at the park, we found out that we couldn’t get in with our friend’s pass — they didn’t start working until today. So we headed to Downtown Disney, after having a dramatic morning, shaking our heads, wanting margaritas. We which did have, at 12. What a morning! After that, our friend A. lost her camera–what a loss–and we knew this was destined to be a hectic day.

Once we searched the parts of the park we’d seen, and found no camera, we headed to the outlet malls to lighten our spirits. I ended up buying a new spring and summer wardrobe, some clothes for Jeff, and a giant & ridiculous yellow bag. (It was $30, but originally $100. Score.) Oh, and earlier in the day I bought a sun hat that is equally as ridiculous. It was quite a day.

yellow

Guys, it is so big. Like it probably could fit SS inside it. It’s shameful, but I love it all the same.

Then, after the outlets, we headed to my apartment to drive Jeff to his shoot, played Mario for a half hour, and then ended at Cor and A’s. We spent the evening eating, and looking at ALL of Cor and A’s wedding photos. Then, finally, around 9:30, we looked through all of Cor’s clothes and determined she needed to get rid of a lot of them. I made out like a bandit with a GARBAGE bag of new clothes.

An excellent weekend, all in all, filled with new clothes. Now if only I could find Jeff……..

PS–Cor and A are moving in downstairs. Get excited, because I am!!!

Shopping for less: the fun way!

So, guys, this weekend when I was in Forks, I was climbing over a fallen tree (that was over a stream) in an attempt to get to the beach. I managed to make the hole that was already in my jeans a larger one. This was bad news bears, indeed. I then proceeded to wear the jeans the rest of the weekend, and now they are absolutely inappropriately ripped.

Because I wear jeans to work sometimes (yay working at a school!) I decided that owning only one pair was probably not going to work. So last night, after work, I set out to Ross (which, for those of you on the East Coast, is much like TJ Maxx) to try a new store out and hopefully get some jeans.

I had never been to Ross before, but my friends told me it was excellent. Well, boy, did I get lucky!! If you don’t mind sifting through the racks, which I usually don’t, you get lucky.

Maybe you didn’t know, but Ross is the best place, ever.

Purchases?

Nine West jeans that are $34.99 on their website (I got them for $19.99)

A pair of jean capris ($13.99, thank you.)

timberlandsTimberland shoes that are around $90.00 online (I got them for $16.99, and my sister hates them, as I thought she would.)

sandals

Simple Green Toe sandals, selling for $29.60 online. I got mine for $8.99 (Mine are a beige, instead of that green on the fabric.)

sneakers

Asic sneakers (although my stripe is blue, not green) that are going online for $64.95! Mine were $13.99. Excellent.

Overall, best day. I really needed new everyday sneakers, since mine are heavy duty and make me hot, and my feet need a break from dress shoes. I also needed another pair of sandals, since I live in LA and the forecast today is high of 77, and I only have 1 pair that doesn’t make my feet cry.

The slip on shoes will prove helpful when I am trying to head out somewhere with Jeff (grocery, Target, park, etc.) and it’s too cold for sandals but I don’t want to get my sneakers on. Sometimes, I am just that lazy.

AND I have some new sneakers that make me feel good, and with summer on the way, jean capris never hurt anyone.

Happy Almost-Spring, everyone.
