Please excuse this slight delay…

As a bridesmaid, I did most of the things I was supposed to do: cracked jokes at the rehearsal, hugged everyone like I knew them, got my hair done at 7 am, held it together with 41 bobby pins, practiced the walk to the stage in my heels and jeans, sewed my dress on, told the bride a funny story before we went on stage to calm her nerves, walked down the aisle without falling, cried twice on stage at the appropriate times, walked off the stage without falling, smiled in hundreds of pictures, held the bride’s train, got her in the car without dropping the dress, smiled when introduced at the reception hall, cried at the toasts, laughed at the toasts. I drank champagne, danced with the best man, danced with the groom (three times, because I am lucky), danced to keep the party alive, attended to the bride if she needed something (hug, smile, wink), danced with the other bridesmaids. I helped clean up, held the marriage license until it needed to be signed, held hands with B, and said, “hey, you’re married.”

But, as it turns out, I only managed two pictures, and two iPhone pictures. So, you’ll have to excuse the slight delay, but I must wait for Jeffrey to post them, as secondary wedding photographer.

This weekend will be:

This weekend will be:

Fast. Full of travel. Full of planes: four. Two layovers. Airport food, and lots of coffee. coffee, coffee, coffee. It will be beautiful, and full of tears. It will include good food, friends, and family. Include lots of photos, makeup, bobby pins. Include new friends, old friends, new concepts, old concepts. It will be eye liner (over, and over), heels, three shades of silver, and waterproof mascara (for the tears, of course.) It will be sunshiny, hot, summery. It will be everything B and B hoped it would be. And more.

It will be perfect.

Happy Wedding, B and B. I cannot wait to see you tomorrow. I am so excited.

Dream Post: A wedding, roller skates.

rollerskatesI had a dream:

I was at my friend Bec’s house, and we were getting ready for a wedding for one of her friends. We were getting dressed, and knew it was time to go to the wedding. So we headed to the church or the hall, which was very close to the house we were getting ready in, and I went over with my roller skates. That apparently I was OK at. Then there was an African American man who was standing in the middle of the street, who was very nice but apparently dangerous. He was talking to me without moving his mouth, so I thought he was telepathic with me, but apparently everyone could hear him. Very strange, indeed.

Then I got to the church and we were taking pictures of the bride alone, and we were all laughing, and I realized that my camera’s battery was dying. Then I realized the camera I was holding wasn’t even mine. So I went back to the house, on my roller skates, to get my camera. On the way back, I realized I was driving a car but I was in the passenger seat, so I went to climb over and drive and suddenly Jeff was in the car with me. He kept driving past the church, saying he forgot something, and he was driving to Hartford. I don’t know why I knew it was Hartford, but it was. Meanwhile, I guess the wedding must have been somewhere in Virgina, since that’s where Bec is from.

Then he kept saying he’d get us back to the church before the ceremony was over, and was explaining to me why he had to break up with me, and used the roller skates as an example.

Then I woke up.

Reasons? I have no idea. And, I must say that after such a dream dry spell, although these dreams are weird, it’s kind of nice to have them back.

Dream Post 9: Spiders and we're related?

creepycrawelers1I had a dream:

I was sitting in a hotel, with Jeff, and my family, and I realized there was a bump on my back. It was full of spider eggs. Jeff got it off me, but then he found two others. One had baby spiders in it, that looked like creepy crawlers, and one had adult spiders in it. It was disgusting, and my dad was trying to help get them off but was being really slow about it.

Meanwhile, even though I had these spiders in me, I was fine with kissing Jeff. But then my mom walked in on us kissing and was like “Oh no, this is horrible.” And I was like, “But…why?” And she was like “Because you and Jeff are first cousins once removed by marriage.”

So this meant we could never marry…and I was like “Well we live together, did you not ever think of that before?” And my mom apparently hadn’t realized we were dating.

It was a very bizarre dream, and at the end I still had spiders in me…ga-ross.

Things that contributed?

1. My coworker found a black widow spider on campus this week

2. We watched an episode of 30 Rock this week and in it Tina Fey’s character finds someone awesome to date but then finds out they are related.
