There is a man testing the fire alarm.

Today is the day when they test the fire alarms at my job, and there is a man here who is going to test them.

As such, I cannot focus on work, and instead am going to update you!

So, friends, how have you been? Sorry I’ve been absent for a while, I got a little distracted with work, coming home after a bit of a crazy office space, and working to organize myself in time for the beginning of the school year. So woot! to that.

Things I’ve been loving lately:

1. Body Language by Jesse McCartney

2. Abraham by The Kin

How have y’all been?

Two days, vacay!

Hello all! I have been busy busy busy at work and in my own life, trying to get ready for my vacay! It is coming fast, and I am so ready for it. I am sorry I’ve not been around to post, but here’s how my week has gone:

Sunday — A trip to brunch, then Amoeba, then home to rest, complete with a trip to Target for my trip to Yosemite and a TJs run

Monday — An improv night with my cousin, AJ, and Jeff, Cor, and Andrew

Tuesday — Laundry with the Allens, complete with a FINISHED game of Scrabble (good one, Jeff) and 11 washers. That’s right — between the four of us, we used 11 washers. Andrew pointed out that is 2.5 ish per person, which yes, is reasonable, but still. 11 washers? A new high, for us. And we didn’t get home until 11 because Corelyn and I needed to have an hour and a half of “girl time” aka “Everwood” time.

Wednesday, tonight — Paul and Becca for dinner, along with the Allens, for Meatloaf (and something for the veg) and maybe, just maybe, a treat for Paul’s birthday.

Thursday night — packing!!!!!!! I am going to be in MI for 5 days, NYC for 5 days, and will need Camp Waterloo and City Chic dress. Very different, and both important. Oh, and did I mention I wasn’t planning on check a bag?

Friday night — Fly out at 11:35pm for Michigan!

Hopefully this week I will get a chance to post to you all the CDs I bought at Amoeba last weekend.

Excuse me, I believe I've left my Pandora running…

pandora_over

I’m not sure when Pandora started enforcing a 40 hour listening limit, but they have. And I’ve reached my limit, which seems obvious because I use it the whole time at work.

I’ll only have to pay $0.99 to keep listening for the rest of the month, but I think I am going to take a break now and listen to the music I’ve added to my computer via iTunes (thank you, HSM and Matt Nathanson) and might listen to some radio online before I pay. It’s not that I don’t love Pandora (I do) or that I don’t understand why they have to charge (and in their ways to conserve listening time mention me almost by name–the person who walks away and forgets to turn Pandora off) because I understand that, too. It’s expensive to give things away for free. I get it.

But there is Public Radio out there, radio stations on the web, and lots of Podcasts I could learn something from. I’ll let you know how my new listening endeavors go.
