Sometimes I stand in the copy room
And wish that I could spend summer like I used to: outside, summer sun, with friends, on the beach, in shorts. Then I am reminded of the great day I am having because every time I look down I remember yesterday, and purple toes.

New market in town
Yesterday a new market opened a block from work. Liz and I have been waiting for it to open since May, and I had been anticipating it long before then, when all we knew was that something was going there. It’s a fresh and easy. Greek yogurt, granola, and strawberries enough for three to four days of breakfast. $6.50. It’s a good day.
A new way to blog…for me.
Well friends, we’re in a new era. I am writing to you from my phone. It has a fancy WordPress application that allows me to write you any time I want. Much like Twitter I guess, only I can write as much as I want. Now anytime is a good time to write to you about my day. Right now I am at Starbucks drinking chai and about to finish my book. I am working from home this morning but the car had to go in for some checks, so I am waiting for it to be done. So I am going to enjoy the last hundred pages and then get to work! I swear. Happy Wednesday, all!
For your viewing pleasure, I’ve attached a picture if the crabs that Cor and I saw this weekend at the farmer’s market.
iPhone, busy weekend.
Well this weekend saw some busy days, and I feel like I need a break. Cor and I have decided to have a “Vacation from home” weekend coming up, which should be simple (but not necessarily easy) for us to do. Reading, Scrabble, etc. It shall be marvelous.
I got my fancy new iPhone, which is nice to have (I love having an iPod and games and all my contacts and the interweb) and I got to see friends old and new, and spend some time in the pool acting like a five-year-old. It was excellent. Listed on the “never to that again” list from this weekend: make 2 lasagnas in 90 degree weather. Check, got it, thank you Universe. 😉
My new phone!
This week, to do:
- Finish Catch-22, the book club book for July
- Laundry
- Eating through the leftovers in my fridge
- Clean my room
- RELAX.
How are all of your mid-Julys?
Goodbye, Samsung.
6718 calls. A little over 9 calls a day.
339:54:20 hours/minutes/seconds. That’s roughly 14 days, or 2 weeks, I’ve spent on the phone in the past 2 years.
It’s been a good phone. I’ve dropped it a million times, in snow, rain, mud, the sink, on the hardwood floor. All over. I’ve let it die, lost its charger, left it in bathrooms, at home, at work. I’ve found out that I had a new baby in the family, I’ve found out I’ve lost someone, on this phone. Some has said “I love you” and “I hate you” and “I can’t believe I said that” and “I can’t believe you said that” and “I can’t believe he said that to her” on this phone. Someone has texted me a love note, an angry message, a hello, a goodbye, a welcome home, a see ya next time, an xoxo. Someone has called to say “hi” or “hello” or “miss you” multiple times, called to ask about pizza nights, parties, events, to do nothing at all. We’ve made plans, broken them, made some more, and called to talk about the event afterwards with this phone. Cor has used it. Becca. Lauren. K, SS, and M, at some point. Nikki, too, when I’m home. Jeff on occasion. It’s called Connecticut, Massachussetts, New York, Michigan, California, Virginia, Florida, and been from one coast to the other itself, not to mention to China. What a luckily thing.
It’s been a good phone. Tomorrow it’ll be gone, replaced by an iPhone, a bigger, better, more breakable phone. And I will love my new phone, but sometimes, I will miss the memories of this one.
