Spring's here…tomorrow morning at 7:44 am EST (4:44 am here.)

Welcome, Spring. Although it’s already 77 degrees here, I am still excited that you are coming tomorrow. I can hardly wait! In preparation for your arrival, I did a little research about the Sun.
DID YOU KNOW that the Sun moves a up a little in the sky, hence winter, spring, etc.? I mean, I guess I knew that, but I wasn’t sure what that exactly looked like. Now I do. Enjoy.

Some quotes for you.

I was weeding through an old journal from college, and I thought I’d share these with you.

“Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.”
– Brian McNeil ( Prof from college)

*Sometimes, I feel like when need to take road trips just to make sure the land is still there.

*There are only 26 letters. They can be combined to be hundreds of words. Or abbreviations. ICU should stand for: I Care for You or I’m Coming for You or I Cannot Lost You. Not ICU, Intensive Care Unit.

*Do you think that trees shape themselves like clouds because they are jealous of their freedom?

*I swear, there is a lesson here somewhere. At the end of the day, I’ll take my B+ and go home with more than just a dog. But for now, all I want to say is “You are very rude, enjoy your spaghetti.”

I'm icing my feet, friends.

OK, after Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off, because I slacked off, I went running tonight.

Since daylight savings was this weekend, the sun is out until about 7, which means when I got home around 5:45 going running was a perfect idea. I loaded my mix on, and headed out.

Accomplishment? I ran the entire 10 minutes. I had to cut back my speed and really focus on my breath, but I held a steady jog.

Something to work on? I tied my shoes too tightly and DID NOT wear sneakers to work today, which meant my arches weren’t ready for running. I had to stop a few times and shake it off, including once when I had to get down and re lace my shoes.

I feel good. I have ice shot glasses taped to my feet with duct tape, but I did it. (But, on a lighter note, at least those babies are multiple-purpose. I might have some marketing and patents to work on…)

Next time–I will s t r e t c h out before I head out. That’s my campaign slogan for the year.

Focus on the purple.

This week, B and C’s friend K was in town. She got a fortune to focus on the purple. I figured it could carry over to me, so I am focusing.

In an effort to focus harder, I’ve painted my toes purple, and dyed my hair. Not purple though. I have my limits.

As seen in the picture, you can hardly tell:

But you know what? I can tell. You know why? I have no more gray hairs. At 22, I think this is an accomplishment.

Exciting things:

1. I am going to see Stephen Hawking tonight.

2.  I am a letter away from being registered to vote in Cali, and in a few weeks I am taking the driving test so I can be a Cali driver’s license holder.

3.  This weekend I am going on girl’s retreat to Washington (state), and I’ll get to see my beloved Kiki. Who I miss like whoa.

4. I have recently started reading celebrity gossip. It makes me a little giddy. That’s good for stress. I know it.

5. I have been drinking more tea. Overall, this is a good day.

Macaroni, or Pasta?

Ok, ok. So in case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’ll let you out on a little secret. I’m Italian. My extended family tree boasts 198 people, 127 of which are blood related, all of which I can name, and have met. And have probably hung out with on more than one occasion. Seriously, this is a fifteen-year old  picture of my family:

I can add about 25 off the top of my head to this picture. So you can imagine.

So you think, because I can sputter 15 or so words of Italian and because I can speak to you in Italian-American made-up words my mother imparted on me, I would know the difference between macaroni and pasta. But I didn’t. So, today, for some unknown reason to me, I wondered, “Wait, what is the difference?” APPARENTLY there is a difference, but don’t tell Jeff because I think we argued this point, once.

Macaroni is defined as: “pasta in the form of narrow tubes.”

Pasta, however, is defined as: “dough formed into various shapes (e.g. spaghetti, lasagne), cooked as part of a dish or in boiling water and served with a savoury sauce.”

So there you go. Rest easy, folks. This girl does the research for you…So just so we’re clear:
