This is why I never get anything done.

“There is a note on the board that says ‘Hard boil all eggs'” – Jeff

“Yes, its because the eggs go bad tomorrow according to package.” – me

“Well, so you’re going to hard boil them?” – Jeff

“Yes, I could also make you cookies, or a baked good, do you want me to?” – me

“What about brownies, could you make brownies?” – Jeff

“Yea, probably.” – me (proceed to look through cook book and see if I have enough chocolate)

“No, I don’t have enough to make a full recipe. I could make 1/3.”  – me

“Could I go to the store and get the ingredients you need?” – Jeff

“Yea, then I’ll make ‘um.” – me

“What, no, this is ridiculous. Hard boil the eggs, we should relax tonight.” – Jeff

“Ok.” – me

Proceed to boil the eggs, and rinse all the lettuce in the sink because it’s sandy. Jeff stands by, shaking head, coaxing me to sit down and relax.

Guys, I think I’m addicted to cooking.

you get in, you get done (and then you get gone.)

My hairdresser last night said, “Cutting your hair makes me feel like I am cutting Veronica Lake’s hair.”

This weekend I have the following plans: yoga, date with JH to crepes and a movie, sleep, soccer, peach crisp, nothing, sleep, farmer’s market, yoga, pot roast, nothing.

My hairdresser last night said, “You have great hair. Do you like your hair? Because some people with great hair don’t like their hair.”

It’s Friday. Cinnamon rolls are made, and ready to be eaten. 37 to go. There are mixed cds to mix, to mail, to pour my soul into, and to hope that (and know that) the recipients will get, and love.

My hairdresser last night said, “So the sister wives were on Oprah today…”

I’m going to do a lot of s t r e t c h i n g this weekend, and cooking, and deep breathing in and out through my nose, and alternatively relaxing my face muscles and smiling through Warrior 3.

My hairdresser last night said, “What is your heritage?”

I said Italian.

My hairdresser last night said, “Oh my God, I knew it! I knew you were Italian!!”

$5 Orange Marmalade: a lesson in not giving up.

Corelyn and I are almost there. Well, sort of. 10 weeks left, and the PW Challenge will be behind us.

Things that I’ve done lately for this challenge?

1. Bought corn syrup. Those of you who know me know this was a challenge in itself.

2. Bought $5 Orange Marmalade (the only kind at our grocery store without high fructose corn syrup.)

3. Agreed to make cinnamon rolls. On a weeknight. After hair cuts.

4. Asked the question, “Do you think we could make prune cake for Thanksgiving?”

5. Realized that yoga might not be cutting it anymore…

We’ll be glad when it’s past us, but the next 10 weeks will be difficult. Here goes nothing. Wish us luck.

Getting back in the swing…

So yesterday Corelyn and I went to yoga, restarting our engines in the work out realm. Over the next few weeks, I plan to take up swimming (and if I’m brave enough, it might be before work) and potentially figuring out how to incorporate outdoor activities into our regular schedules. We’re into tennis, long walks, and kicking the soccer ball around (and sometimes throwing the football.) LA is finally starting to warm up, and with that comes the desire to be outside all of the time.

Meanwhile, tonight I plan on going to the gym straight after work, determined to still get home by 5:30, work out under my belt, 4 and a half hours of evening to do what I please, which tonight includes uploading pictures from PW challenge to Garlic, My Soul, with Corelyn, going to Target for some July 4 necessities, and making a delicious dinner.

I love summer.

Sunny Five Good Things.

1. It’s nearly Friday.

2. Last night I biked 1.5 miles more than I had Monday night, up to 11 miles, in the same amount of time (thirty minutes.) (And I biked to the gym, which seems a little silly, but I did — so that’s another mile!)

3. Tomorrow is my coworker/friend Liz’s birthday. Which means we will be doing a little less work, and a little more play, and means there will be treats.

4. This weekend holds: shopping with Corelyn, reading the book club book, soccer, baking, cooking, sunshine, and love.

5. I got three pairs of new shoes for $11 (after trading in some other shoes.)  Two of those pairs are for weddings, and are fancy.

How are all of you, chicks? Staying busy, like me? Expect some epic posts this weekend about baking/cooking and maybe about life, too!
