Sooner or later/I swear we’re gonna make it

Morning friends.

This morning marks my 500th blog post. I started this blog on October 17, 2008, nearly three years ago, upon my move to Los Angeles. I’ve written through a few jobs (working at the school, my newest job with Rebecca) and through new experiences (becoming a soccer coach, free lancing for a local magazine, running a 5k) and through exciting life changes (numerous cousins being born, my sister getting engaged.)

This is a picture of Jeff and I, three days after I started my new blog.

This is our birthday party this year. I think we look pretty much the same.

One of my first photographs of food, when I started this blog. On my point and shoot.

A more recent photo from this spring. On Jeff’s fancy camera.

Do you see the difference? I sure do. In food quality and photo quality.

This blog has allowed me to have a place for people to follow me through my adventures, and to write when I feel the need to just get it all out. I look forward to the next 500 posts. I hope to continue to entertain you about my life, from the boring days of Shark Week to the exciting ones of my sister’s wedding. The past three years has since an advance in my photography skills, more than twenty “5 Good Things,” and a new cooking blog to focus on.

Life has gotten so exciting over the past three years, and I can’t wait to see what the next three years brings. Thank you, friends, for reading about my life, caring about my stories, and eating my food. It’s been a blessing.

Getting back in the swing…

So yesterday Corelyn and I went to yoga, restarting our engines in the work out realm. Over the next few weeks, I plan to take up swimming (and if I’m brave enough, it might be before work) and potentially figuring out how to incorporate outdoor activities into our regular schedules. We’re into tennis, long walks, and kicking the soccer ball around (and sometimes throwing the football.) LA is finally starting to warm up, and with that comes the desire to be outside all of the time.

Meanwhile, tonight I plan on going to the gym straight after work, determined to still get home by 5:30, work out under my belt, 4 and a half hours of evening to do what I please, which tonight includes uploading pictures from PW challenge to Garlic, My Soul, with Corelyn, going to Target for some July 4 necessities, and making a delicious dinner.

I love summer.

Home for dinner?!

I arrived home tonight at 5:59. I cannot remember the last time I got home before 6, and I barely knew what to do with myself.

So I did what comes natural, of course: made a delicious dinner.

I had a half of red onion. In it went.

Cast of characters: 3 carrots, a head of broccoli, 1 tomato (that I may or may not have dropped on the way home from the farmer’s market.)

I added two garlic chicken sausages, because I love them, and some cloves of garlic, too.

Mmmmmm good!!

Over pasta, per usual.

I added some mexican cheese and parm cheese, and ate it too fast to show you.

Then I watched all the episodes I had missed of Law and Order:SVU. Now I am watching Ellen. And what, what, what, could be better than that, guys?
