May flowers…herbs…

I’ve been meaning to post an update on my potted herbs for a month and a half now, but it’s good I waited, because they have grown so much. I think it’s because of all the talking I do to them…

1. These are my Parker bowls. And I love them. Nothing to do with herbs, but they are beautiful.

Do you see the little seedlings in the middle? They are starting to grow!

These ones seem to be growing better. I think that they have more light.

Very very small, right in the center. See them?

I thought if I bought a flowering plant it’d encourage the others to grow.

Well the potato guy isn’t growing too much, but I think he needs more sun.

What a day.

It’s raining and wasn’t supposed to. I got up late, it’s cold (for LA, and considering it was 100 Monday and Tuesday), the auto mechanic we had an appointment with canceled last minute because of a medical emergency, I need to do laundry, I need to go grocery shopping, I have terrible heartburn (so bad I had to go to the school nurse and get some Tums, for the second day in a row), something I did at work yesterday was really wrong, which mean I had to redo the project and felt terrible because I should have triple-checked my work, and it’s almost 2 o’clock and I am just now sitting down to look at my “to do” list from yesterday.

All in all, I am having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. And I am crabby.

But, it’s almost Friday. So that’s something.

My sorella

My sister and I, we get along pretty well. There was a time we didn’t, back when I wanted everything that was hers, back when I cried about everything and said “It’s not fair” like 100 times a day, but I kind of grew out of it.

10 things we have in common:

  1. Our looks–we are exactly the same
  2. Our taste in food–both love mostly anything anyone puts in front of us, will always eat a turkey sandwich, Jax, and drink some diet soda.
  3. Our love of urban areas, she living in Chicago, and me living in Boston and now LA
  4. Our hatred of Comic Sans–it is the worst font in the world.
  5. Our love for reading, and similar taste in books
  6. Our love for James Taylor, which will never waiver
  7. Our love for laying by a pool or ocean and tanning, and equally our love for swimming
  8. Our love for soccer
  9. We have the exact same voice, and the tendency to be sarcastic
  10. Our desire to buy unreasonably expensive kitchen items because they are pretty and because we are the type of people who spend most of our time at home in the kitchen, no matter how small it is.

Basically,  I am a copier of my sister. And want to grow up to be just like her.

Sick. Sick. Sick.

Hi guys!

Turns out this weekend ended up being my sick weekend. From Saturday to Tuesday I was lying on the couch, and now I sit at work with my ear clogged so I hear everything with an echo.

A quick update in 5 things:

1. I am working in a different office which means I am constantly surrounded by children, work, and teachers. It’s good, busy, and productive.

2. I am now a volleyball coach. I went to help out this weekend and did well with the kids, so the Coach asked if I could be a volleyball coach since there were tons of soccer coaches. I said “Yes, of course!” Do I know anything about volleyball? No…but I am good enough at it. Bump, set, spike!

3. I wrote an article. It was for Valley Scene Magazine. I don’t live in the Valley, but I do frequent it a lot.  Check it out.

4. I missed practice this week because I was sick. It was a bummer, but hopefully  by next week I’ll be able to get back out there.

5. Easter is this weekend! And Jeff’s special day on Saturday. It’s a surprise, so I can’t tell you what it is, but you’ll think it’s cool, too. I’ll let you know after it’s over.
